City Church Dublin

What to expect

We are a young church plant who regularly welcome newcomers to our community. We have two gatherings on a Sunday at 10AM and 12PM. Doors open 30 mins before the gathering begins and we serve coffee, tea and pastires. Our services typically last 75 minutes and there are often opportunities to have lunch with others from church afterwards. We sing, pray, read the Bible and listen to a talk based on a particular Bible passage. Our normal practice is to work through books of the Bible in order to see how the whole books fit together, not ducking the hard parts. This lets God set the agenda, not the preacher. Often our services include time for reflection as well as feedback and discussion so as to be a community that is learning and growing together. We try to keep things simple and to explain them clearly; sometimes we use liturgy (in the form of a creed or confession), and we try to use it in a way that is clear and that complements the tone of our gathering.

City Kids

During the Sunday gatherings, we have a City Kids programme. The children stay with the rest of us for the first part of the service, go out for City Kids, and then return for the last part of the service. During City Kids, the children follow a similar lesson to the current sermon series that is delivered in an age-appropriate way. All of our City Kids teachers are Garda vetted and have undergone Church of Ireland Safeguarding Trust training.

Community groups

From September, we will have 6 community groups that meet during weekday evenings in homes across the city. Go to the “Community groups” page for full details.

Local parking

There is some street parking available on near the City Church building. Generally, these areas are in Dublin’s yellow tariff zone, but parking is free during off-peak times. The map below indicates the times that the tariffs are in force for the nearest parking areas; click on a zone to see its details. When parking, be sure to double-check the local signs for parking restrictions as they may change without notice.
